Public boat ramp and river access on Rainbow River, Florida

Public Access & Boat Ramps

Every public entry point to Rainbow River — with directions, parking details, fees, and what to expect at each location.

Getting on the Water

Rainbow River has several public access points spread along its 5.7-mile length. Each serves a different purpose — some are ideal for launching kayaks and canoes, others are tubing put-ins, and a few are quiet bank-access spots for fishing and wildlife watching. Knowing which access point fits your plans will save you time and help you avoid the most crowded areas.

All access points listed here are publicly accessible. Hours, fees, and amenities vary by location and season — always check ahead before you go, especially on holiday weekends when capacity limits may be enforced.

Public parks aren't the only way in. Many visitors access the river directly from a private vacation rental or riverfront home — properties along Rainbow River often have their own docks, kayak launches, or sandy banks, giving you quiet, uncrowded water access steps from your door. Rainbow Springs State Park's campground also puts you right on the river, with direct access for campers. If you're planning a multi-day trip or want to avoid the summer crowds at KP Hole, staying on the river is one of the best-kept secrets in the area.
